Wedding Stories
Patricia & Dennis
Hillside vineyard · High summer
Between The Rows
Morning mist sat low in the meadow when Patricia walked to the vines with her father — just the two of them, her dress brushing the grass, his hand steady on her arm. Dennis waited at the end of the row with absolutely no composure left, and the guests loved him for it.
Everything about this wedding stayed outside: portraits in the tall grass at noon, aperitivo in the courtyard, dinner at trestle tables as the sun dropped behind the hill and the string lights took over. Patricia changed into boots for the dancing and never looked back.
Our favorite frame is the quietest one — the two of them hand in hand, cropped at the waist, her slit skirt and his blue suit against the green. Sometimes a wedding photographs itself; you just have to be standing in the right meadow.
"The mist, the boots, my dad's face when the row ended — you caught the parts we were too happy to notice."
— Patricia, the bride
