Fourteen Friends, One Long Table
Gloria and Vincent did not want a bridal party — they wanted a reunion. Fourteen of their oldest friends stood with them under the lindens, blush dresses on one side, grey suits on the other, and the group portraits from that afternoon are pure choreography of laughter.
The ceremony was short and full-throated: vows they wrote separately and somehow rhymed, a ring bearer who sprinted, a flower girl who supervised. Dinner ran down the middle of the lawn — one table, ninety guests, platters passed hand to hand while the string quartet gave up and played requests.
At midnight the whole party lit sparklers and made a tunnel to the gate. Vincent carried Gloria through it while sparks fell on the grass. It is the last frame of the gallery and the first one their families ask to see.
"You herded fourteen best friends, two grandmothers and one sprinter of a ring bearer — and every single one of us looks happy. Sorcery."
